iPA: A theatre production

The Briefs Project
For several months fellow musician Jem Clark and I briefed each other to write a piece of music. The point of this was purely to stop talking about writing and actually do some tunes! Most months featured a theme and a challenge! These were some of my responses...
Theme: A friend of a friend
Challenge: Must contain elements of rap
(Briefed by Charlotte Smith; written and produced by Jem and me as "Slim Lemon")
Theme: In the background
Theme: New beginnings
Challenge: Alter the tempo at least once
Theme: Sesquipedalian Episcopalian (!!)
Challenge: Instrumental hook
Theme: Brandy for breakfast
Challenge: No piano/keyboards allowed
Theme: Write about something you enjoy
Challenge: Show your dark side
Theme: Not living in a detached house
Challenge: Avoid a 1980s sound

Having a bash at other folks' songs
Sometimes I can't resist the urge to spend a lot of time and energy doing a cover version of someone else's song. Even though I feel like this could be effort better employed towards creating original ideas, I always have fun and learn something new - so hey!
